Firoz
Shah Sur
Successor of Sher Shah
Emperor of Sur Dynasty
only for Three days
Region – A.D. 1554 to
1554
Father – Islam Shah
(Grandson of Sher Shah)
Firoz, a
minor son of Islam shah, ascended the throne after the death of his father but
just after three days he was killed by his maternal uncle. He assumed the title
of Muhammad Adil Shah after ascendancy. In case Islam Shah had not waited for
the consent of his wife and put Mubariz Khan to death, this tragic end of the
prince, could have been averted. Ferishta also writes, “Islam Shah was
succeeded by his son, the Prince Firoz, the twelve years of age, who was placed
on the throne by the chiefs of the tribe of Sur at Gwalior. He had not reigned
three days, when Mubariz Khan, the son of Nizam Khan Sur (Sher Shah’s brother),
assassinated the young prince and ascending the throne, assumed the little of
Muhamud Shah Adil.”
