Muhammad Waris wrote this book after Abdul Hamid Lahauri had grown quite old. Waris was a disciple of Abdul Hamid Lahauri. He has mentioned the complete history of the reign of Shah Jahan in this book. Undoubtedly, the earlier history is based on the work of Lahauri but the later history of last ten years was written by Waris of his own accord. He has paid due attention to the dates and the chronology of the events, hence the creation of Waris is an authentic work for knowing the history of the contemporary period.
