Muntakhab-ul-Tawarikh
It is
written by Abdul Qadir Badauni who was a disciple of Shaik Mubarak Nagauri, who
also taught Abdul Fazl and Faizi, and they came out to be very liberal in their
outlook. Hence it was accepted that being a disciple of the same teacher,
Badauni will also prove to be liberal in outlook but he grew to be a staunch
Muslim and vehemently criticized Akbar for his liberal outlook.
Muntakhab-ul-Tawarikh was written in three volumes and all
its three parts have been translated by different persons. The first part was
translated by Lt. Colonel Ranking, the second one by W.H. Lowe and the third
was translated by Lt Col. Haig. Badauni has described the event of poisoning
Akbar in A.D. 1591 and his doubt on Jahangir.
